A zoo visit can be a lovely way to spend a break, and you can go independently. Start with the time you have, rather than trying to see every enclosure.
Have a fixed return time? Allow for the journey from your hotel, entry checks, walking inside the zoo and the return trip. Two hours outside the hotel is not two hours inside the park.
Three decisions before you leave
- Choose your main interest. If pandas are the reason you’re going, prioritise that area and make other stops optional.
- Check current admission information. Confirm your date, ticket coverage, entry requirements and the relevant entrance through official channels. Do not assume every ticket includes every attraction.
- Plan for your group. Children, rest stops and a slower walking pace can change what fits comfortably.
